CNC Machining & Tool Cutting

At Protocast Inc., we are proud to offer a number of high-quality CNC machining services to our customers in the Denver area. All of our engineers are experts in the unique challenges associated with casting and machining and have experience making flawless dies, tools, and prototypes.

If you are interested in our CNC machining services, be sure to contact a member of our team today. We would love to discuss your next project and provide you with some insight as to what the best production method might be.

What Is CNC Machining?

CNC Machining is a manufacturing process that utilizes pre-programmed computer software to dictate the actions of machinery and other factory tools. In our case, the “Computer Numerical Control” software is used to instruct high-powered machines to just and shape metal prototypes and tools.

Some of the more common machines used in CNC machining are mills, lathes, plasma cutters, electric discharge machines, and water jet cutters. While we might not have every type of CNC machine in our Denver foundry, we do have various partnerships with other local shops that give us access to the machines we do not currently have.

Why Choose CNC Machining?

When it comes to tool creation of manufacturing a product prototype, details matter. Because of this, we recommend machining as a production method to our customers that are looking for highly-detailed metal cuts.

When a product has a complicated cut that needs to be made, it can be completed accurately within minutes. All we have to do is set the right code and dimensions and the machine will be prompted by our software to make the cut. Because CNC machining utilizes such a detailed process, most products come out needing minimal changes.

The Benefits of CNC Machining

In our Denver foundry, you can find us using many different tools. That said, one of the easiest tools that we use daily is the CNC machine. As a fully-automated tool, the risk of human error is reduced and the pre-programmed software does all of the work once prompted to run. Once a programmed prompt has been initiated, the machine does the rest — allowing our foundry to manufacture metal products at a high rate.

When using our CNC machines, we utilize Computer-Aided Design (CAD) software to make the initial cuts and Computer-Aided Manufacturing (CAM) software to finish the product to perfection.
